If give an option either watch India Vs Australia ODI or a free trip to Singapore on the same day, most of our brothers in India will decline the latter. But if India is 5 or 6 down chasing a competitive Aussie total, they would repent for what they lost.
That’s is the nature of every Indian. By saying that I didn't intend to offend anyone, me being biggest follower of Cricket in any form.
People in India, particularly for those like me - should realize this. With such a focus and passion for willow game, we only set notorious examples.
IPL - Multinational Companies makes dollars; Politician become Cricketing board and vice versa; and we get beaten up in stadium. In the auction and IPL all the "Black Money" is being whitened. Fortunate Cricket players whether Indian or Foreigner earns.
Here I am not against Cricket players. But those you make cash in the name of game. Its total eclipse in the Indian subcontinent for next 4 weeks. Media will renounce 2G, CWG, S-band etc till the final clash.
National Games: And for that same reason all of the private news channel has completely ignored the 34th National Games. Only state run DD has spent a lot through its Live relay and highlights shows of the National Game for last 2 weeks. For most of main land India, though Hockey- the national game, Cricket is their daily diet. Same being the reason none of the southern states figured in the top 5 in medal tally (exception Kerala where Cricket is far away). Manipur with 23 lakh people stands first in the medal tally while Tamilnadu with 30 time more population thriving in 11th position.
This raises several questions in my mind. What does the Sports ministry in all the states perform if a small state like Manipur put up a fantastic show while states like us, Andra, WB.

First oversea
It was 5:30 in my watch, presented my uncle during my second year of engineering. I made my self relaxed. Standing 12th in the queue, started wondering what will happen in another 20 minutes. Man standing in front of me had a Taipei passport. I checked my passport and tickets in the travel kit.
I still remember - me, Shahul, Kartik and World pass several comments about the Malaysian Airline and used to compare with Air India. But at this moment I felt no great difference in both of them. Now I have 4 more people in front of me – one Indian.
Last year (2004), I had to travel to Mumbai for a training program sponsored by my employer. Believe me that was my first flight experience. In fact I am the first among my friends to fly.
That afternoon we (all my friends) left to airport just 3 hours before the scheduled departure. Even now I cannot stop laughing. All that drama happened for my Mumbai journey. But now I am out of India.
I am next - waiting for my turn with my passport and invite letter in my hand. Yes I have reached LAX Los Angeles Airport for a project. Home Land Security Officer nods his head. Just like the school child waiting for the final bell, I reached his desk.
After few question and verifications, I-94 was issued. Just the one I wanted at that moment. Luckily I will be in India for Diwali. Pulling a trolley, I was waiting for my baggage.
I came out to the arrivals lobby. Took out a $100 bill and started looking for a money changer. Aah to my right I found one. Moved my luggage near the counter and politely asked for the change. Kind lady returned back 5 X $20 dollar currencies and a big smile.
It was worth more than $100. Thank you.
Walking from there, I started counting my remaining days in US. I stopped moving. Oops. I missed something. Scanned thoroughly my bag and jacket twice. Everything remained perfect – my passport, invite letter, return tickets and currencies. But still my mind is restless. I cannot move.
Sat down and started thinking.
I found it. But I cannot get that for next 90 days. My mom, dad, friends, sister family, exotic Chennai.
I started walking towards lobby carrying driving direction, looking for a taxi.

Irresponsible
My motorazr clocked 9:10 AM. Jawarhalal Nehru Inner Ring Road bulging as usual due to heavy traffic. HSB Mini tiffin is my dieting breakfast.
Rehman is singing "Pray for me Brother" in my 18 months old Ipod. I am looking for Itouch which is far more from my budget.
Waiting for red to cross to the road in Kasi theatre signal, I am enjoying the melody. Still I have 28 seconds before I cross the road. An office going lady is so impatient that she scared few motor cyclist. She is very brave and I can compare her to Mohammed Gajini. Howmany ever times she fails crossing road, she never gives up scaring the drivers.
Only 6 more seconds and the thank God green signal goes off and yellow blinks faintly as if it does want to look at me. "Come on Vasu. Ready to cross".
It is now I see one of unforgettable sorry unforgivable scene. A donkey from behind me starts crossing the road. You may think how stupid I am and what is really great in donkey crossing. Your mind wouldn't ask such a question if you see how the donkey cross.
Both the front legs are tied together and rear legs together. Donkey can hardly move 15 centimeter each times it hops. I am unable to do anything except to follow that. I am saying myself - "Owner of this donkey could have tied it to a pole instead of this".
No one in the road seems to pity for this creature. It was moving slowly that I have just 3 seconds of stipulated 15 seconds to cross the road. Even I joined the pool of other people. I rushed to other end of the road while that donkey was half way in the road.
Green lights truns on and all the drivers races their engine as if they are in a formula one circuit. Few of them doesn't care for this donkey, rest all followed this donkey inch by inch striking at the automobile horn. I just waited on the platform just scolding myself.
Days rolled on. It is IPL season and today it isChennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians. I am on my way home. It is quiet early I left office than I used to. Thankfully I didn't had to wake up Raja in his early morning. Anand dropped me at Udhayam. From there I took 11G, way to my home.
Usually I go to Maami's hotel for dinner. Today it is early for dinner and also I have planned for dinner at home; so started walking home from the stop. Got attarcted towards the cricket match, I started watching it in one of the TV dealer shop on the way. There are already a group of cricket lovers standing in front of me. One of them looks to me as Chappell. The way he speaks techniques about the leg glance - wow amazing.
Let me come to the point - All the motor cyclist, irrespective of the age stops their bike (not engine); watches few deliveries; enquires the score and leaves the place in hesitation as if a kid goes unwillingly to school.
I went home thinking above two incidents. One- people rushing in the signal not caring for a any one in the road and another - where they stop their vehicle, watch cricket (in which a player earns in thousands of US dollars per season). I am sorry you are a cricket lover.
My question - People tend to wait, enquire score and move slowly when it comes to cricket. Why don't they wait for anyone in the signal (In this case donkey whose legs are tied) to cross the road?

My Debut
Many times when I surf through many articles, I think I will register my opinion in my blog. It never happened till yesterday. But now at this moment I falsified that.
Yes today I have one in my name and this is my first post in that blog. Several times I keep wondering why Anand waits for reader's feedback about his article. Anand now I know what comments really means.
I start my blogging today and will keep writing my thoughts, views, questions, answers, etc.
